There are a few Dan Henry owners on the forum, myself among them. The consensus seems to be that for an excellent price you get a very good watch. Admittedly, some of their models are a very close homage to a few classic watches, but there are some original designs as well. I own two, the 1970 which I like a great deal and the 1963 which I love.
The newest one above is not really to my tastes either, but it's garnered some good reviews. I recall the 1970 has a Japanese Miyota automatic, I can't remember which move r is in the 1963, but it's quartz. I'm pretty sure they're assembled in China, but IIRC they ship from the US.
