Good spot! I knew there was something different about the sub-dials on the blue one, other than the colours, but couldn't put my finger on it. But you're right, the hours sub-dial is now behind the others and this does improve the usability. Not that I minded it the other way around, but it is an improvement I think.sproughton wrote:Coming back to this, is the blue EP actually a completely new dial configuration? It's the first time I've seen a new EP with the hours subdial behind the others. It's an obvious solution to the overlapping issue and hopefully something Zenith will roll out across the range.
Although it just removes a pet hate of mine from a watch I can't afford

^^^ I think the sub-dials are also slightly smaller on the newer (blue) dial - which means the overall overlap is less of an 'issue'.

Much that the Daytona is fabulous Richard, the loss of the EP would be dreadful in my mind.
But I'm not the owner or the buyer of these beautiful watches.
Whatever you decide, it will be a good decision.

A Rolex Daytona.
My head and heart would be saying yes.
If it didn't work out you could easily regroup.

Let's see. I have decided to go for it and and step one is to sell a few watches in preparation. It may mean I sell them now and then have to wait for several months, but at least I will be able to go for it if/when the opportunity arises. So, the EP and one of the Bremonts are on the block already!

Sounds far too organised to me. I am from the buy now and panic later school of thought!downer wrote:Let's see. I have decided to go for it and and step one is to sell a few watches in preparation. It makes sense to me Richard ^^^
The watch I'm currently dreaming about is a little more modest. It may be a little big at 43mm but the lug to lug of 46mm should make it very wearable.

That's my normal MO if I'm honest - and it may well be the case this time too, but at least I have made some sort of effort to be sensible.nbg wrote:Sounds far too organised to me. I was considering this one a year or two ago, I even tried it on. While I liked it, quite a bit actually, I was torn between this and another Sinn model. I dithered about for so long that I ended up buying neither of them, but I still like it. The one I tried was on the bracelet, quite solid and heavy, I think it would suit me better on a leather strap.

Just tried on this to help decide if the steel version with bracelet will wear too large.

Love these, and different enough from the norm to stand out.

Nick I was surprised - yes it is quite big, but the lugs did not overhang. As usual the photo makes it seem larger, and in a way so does the fact that it was YG and on a posh strap. I reckon blue dial all steel version on bracelet will be just fine.
I reckon large enough for you as a robust smarter alternative to the DSSD.

That's a lovely looking Rolex Neil and would certainly stand out from the more usual Rolex's you see a step up from the norm.
