I tried one on at the Royal Exchange - yes I preferred it to the standard model, mainly because the bracelet had brushed centre links, with polished outer links. But at £615 more and no discount, it seemed rather a lot for a nice box and deluxe nato - so I didn't like it enough to buy! The Boutique said it would sell out quickly and for once they were correct.Dancematt wrote:Dealers seem to think these are worth a whole lot more than that already.nbg wrote:^^^^ the normal version of the Seamaster 300 master co-ax has an rrp of £4,170 - but you could probably get one with up to say 20% ish off. The Spectre version rrp is £4,785.

Still they are going for a smaller amount above rrp than the Snoopy Speedmaster. Complete madness!

34mm. Wears like a 38 though (with the 39 wearing 42 for me). I don't see this green variant being available long compared to others that have sold and I like it's mix of colours and it's use of 11 lumed batons rather than a mix of lumed and unlumed indices.
I'm not a huge fan of modern rolex but vintage prices are going bonkers. Austin Kaye want £3200 for a Rolex serviced 6694 date for Petes sake with most old datejust going for 2.5ish these days -even on chrono24....might aswell buy new for the warranty and movement upgrades. That and I beleive Babin is slowly improving modern Rolex designs.

Shame swatch aren't seeing much of that extra mark up and god knows they need it.nbg wrote:I tried one on at the Royal Exchange - yes I preferred it to the standard model, mainly because the bracelet had brushed centre links, with polished outer links. Had a look at this 'vintage' Laco Type B today at Page and Cooper.

A bit like getting an Eagle E-type. All the benefits of modern mechanicals with classic looks.

I'd like to check out a Vulcain there, but their prices are steep compared with an import.

On Vulcains, suggest you give Jonathan at Page and Cooper a call. He mentioned yesterday that he had recently, or is about to (can't remember which), adjusted his Vulcain price to be more competitive.
