Guy, assuming your real name is 'silizium', that watch has got your name written all over it. Go for it!

I miss all the great things that may never be.
Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Blimey, have never seen the rump before. I think that this just cements this as the perfect watch for you! Absolutely nothing to dislike about it! (Well, if it was 2 mm bigger........)Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Indeed it doesblowfish89 wrote:Guy, I believe that watch has a displayback to show off the in-house movt?

Just noticed this....nbg wrote:Richard did you try any other GOs? Having tried on a Lange One a few weeks ago, I keep thinking about the "budget" alternative.

You have to go Lange. When I recently looked at these for my grail journey (still ongoing BTW!) I fell in love with the Lange. Then I saw the GO as above.
Wifey said to me, "one day you will be wearing the GO and the chap next to you will be wearing the Lange...... ". It certainly made me think!

Re: The
The two numbers on the date on GO are on the same plane (very unique). The two numbers on the Lange are miles apart in height (below).smegwina wrote:Just noticed this....nbg wrote:Richard did you try any other GOs? And think about the insurance concerns of the chap next to you.
I pick GO, it has more color contrast in the hands as well, and I don't want to pay extra for precious metal.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
^^^^^ The Lange would involve:
- selling nearly all of the watches I currently have - which I don't want to do
- leave me with a watch that I would be reluctant wearing in certain situations
- having a watch costing more than I was comfortable with
- having to find a plausible excuse for wifey, as to why we now had less to spend on other stuff!
Whereas I could probably get away with the GO, by just selling a few and I do prefer the GO date window.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
The Panomatic Lunar XL is a gorgeous watch in it's own right and when I had it I never saw it as a "cheap" alternative to the Lange 1 (which I also lust after). I get what your wife is saying but the guy on the other side of the guy with the Lange might be wearing a Patek Annual Calander and the guy next to HIM might be wearing a Sky Moon Tourbillion (not likely but you get the picture!). There will always be other watches if money is no object.
Two trains of thought, save up for the watch you really want and buy it or enjoy the journey getting there with other watches on the way. I chose the later but I understand why people go with the first option. It's certainly cheaper in the long run but I've enjoyed wearing a whole load of other watches in the meantime while I save up for "the one""
