Still dreaming about a c11 Msl with or without chrono. Missed several so far.

I agree that this is definitely a nice one. I tried to source something similar, but the price tag is pretty hefty in most cases. And as great as they are in a lot of respects, the cyclops and the flatness of the hour markers are both pretty big let downs for me.blowfish89 wrote:Forget the bracelet, then no beating this. Maybe a no-date version would be better (no cyclops).
No flash, all class.

^^Look at it this way - 99.99% of people will buy a Submariner or Sea-Dweller at that price, so the SBGA029 (MSRP $5700) is easily found pre-owned mint for 4k$.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Christam's Ball thread caused me to take another look at their range - and the Spanish re-sellers website with nice prices - and I came across this one:

The Fireman NECC. It could be the one to fill my long-vacant spot for a white (ok, silver) dial with dark bezel.
It is 42mm x 13.5mm, hardened case, Sapphire front and back, 300m WR, high shock resistance and of course, the tubes. Movement is industry standard.
Only two downsides that I can see - the classic "RR" seconds-hand counter-balance seems incongruous on this dial and there is some daft script (relating to NECC) on the caseback sapphire.

I like the look of that one too, although it's not one of the models I'm afraid I might be considering as soon as funds allow. But if you decide to go ahead with the Spanish re-seller (absolutely excellent service, by the way), allow me to recommend you. We'd both profit to the tune of an extra 5% discountdowner wrote:Christam's Ball thread caused me to take another look at their range - and the Spanish re-sellers website with nice prices - and I came across this one:

I am not a collector of watches. I used to be able to say that and know I was telling the truth.

I'm thinking about the blue dial model for my next 'major' purchase...or the black dial...decisions, decisions.downer wrote:Christam's Ball thread caused me to take another look at their range - and the Spanish re-sellers website with nice prices - and I came across this one:

The blue dial (and black) looks great. I have not seen any real-life pics yet though.malvern_man wrote:

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
The bezel and the dial seem like an odd coupling to me. It feels like they took a dress watch dial and stuck a honker of a bezel on it. I am a big Ball watch supporter, but, personally, I think there are better options out there for white dial, dark bezel.downer wrote: Only two downsides that I can see - the classic "RR" seconds-hand counter-balance seems incongruous on this dial and there is some daft script (relating to NECC) on the caseback sapphire.
