Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Many thanks chaps, the "retroness" may due, in part, to me adding filter effect to the photo.
Then again, it is a watch I have long lusted and spent years looking into so I, for once, would accept the accolades with pride.
There are many variations of the prince/tiger chrono though, from uber cool to sheer felony. Just to share a few also on my dream list/shortlist:
- the Dream tier
Prince Oysterdate 9430/0 Big Block Exotic
One of the most expensive, rarest and exotic of all Tudor chronos. I have yet to see one in the flesh and probably never will.

Tudor Big Block (94210/94300)
The only model approved by (snobbish) Rolex collectors to be worthy for consideration, pretty expensive too....
94210
94300

Tudor Big Block (79160/70/80)
Late 1980's to early 1990's Big Block, more current than the 94xxx, equally expensive
79160
The Average Joe Tier
These are the most common Tudor Prince chrono available on the market, model 79260/70/80, I am not going into details of the differences and this pic should tell a better story:
79260/70/80
depending on the condition, dial color and the all so important "Rolex signed crown and back", the 79xxx can go from $2k to $3.5K used.
And lastly, the "Tiger" chrono. For a period of time and in association with Tiger Woods, the word "Tiger" is printed on the dial (and become more colorful too), for obvious reasons they usually go for lesser price....

And mine:
Mine is a 79260P, with "P" stands for polished lugs (instead of brushed of all those listed above). Mine also comes on a jubliee bracelet instead of the Oyster (again, all those listed above have oyster bracelet, which usually is preferred for the more toolish look).
If you are still interested in the Tudor chrono, I've found this thread on the Rolex forum quite enjoyable to read: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=40866

Vintage Speedys look so much better than modern ones

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I think about this probably about once a week, but have never had the guts to pursue. No idea why, it just scares me!

Cannot shake the idea of getting another white-dialled AT, and definitely think a pair of Golf editions would be nice.
Problem is, the older model is harder to find (in UK) and anyway the price difference is negligible, but I think I prefer it, although I'm not sure. Ideally, I need to see them in real life, but that seems unlikely.

Its about half of my watch's retail price. Kills the idea of selling it 'ever'.downer wrote:Looks great on the bracelet. Is the bracelet megabucks?
Plus, the lugs were ground by hand, so the watch has to go to Germany to be custom fitted to the bracelet. Taking on and off is easy, but the bracelet is not the same for every watch - not too sure about this myself.
Now-a-days the new Damaskos have machined lugs, so the same bracelet will fit all of them.
Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Sounds complex. It would be easier to sell your watch and buy a new one on a bracelet....
