I am daydreaming about this right now thanks to someone named Richard (and someone else named Greg isn't helping).

Another Seiko , this one is the Seiko SUS 4SI5A SCFF001 military style automatic . This watch is 35mm wide so maybe on the small side for some . It contains the 4s15 hi beat (28.000 bph) movement .They was produced in 1996/7 and are now highly sought after .It has become a grail of mine .

Saw this today and really really want this - just lovely and a great everyday dress watch to wear with a suit.

It seems churlish to mention this, but the reason i choose the moonphase over this one is the white date window!Aifo wrote:Seems like there are lots of love for blue face.

I'm pretty certain that PP have the means to coliur match the date wheel to the dial.

Second watch on this page for me; this one is realistic and would be ideal for me as an every day watch:

As someone who owns a Ball Trainmaster (though not this particular one), I give it my hearty endorsement!

Hoping my next purchase will be one of these four. But who knows, I was recently thrown off track with an impulse purchase which depeletes the cash available for a wee while.
The Nomos Orion Weiss

Benarus Moray 40mm black no date

Ball Fireman Racer

Magrette Leoncino black

Great taste, looked at that Ball and Nomos many times. The Orion will probably join the small list of one's that got away.
A man after my own heart. There was a full set version for sale about 4 months ago on wus. Its was over 1k GBP. I thought about it for quite a few days but decided to pass.tempusmaximus wrote:Another Seiko , this one is the Seiko SUS 4SI5A SCFF001 military style automatic . I miss all the great things that may never be.

Means yes, but the designer has chosen to opt for a contrasting colour, so that it is more obvious/easier to read at a glance.andyg wrote:It seems churlish to mention this, but the reason i choose the moonphase over this one is the white date window!![]()
I'm pretty certain that PP have the means to colour match the date wheel to the dial.
I see this mentioned all the time, and my response is the same – you have to accept the designer(s) don't feel the need to colour co-ordinate the date wheel at every given opportunity.
Some will want to blend the date wheel in, so choose a black one or colour match it with the dial – but at certain price points, it definitely becomes more of a cost based decision.
