Can you give the skinny on that, blowfish? What are we looking at here? Looks interesting.

Here, no affiliation with seller. Don't even know if such a limited edition existed, but it sure looks pretty cool and is much more affordable than the blue 103 I couldn't get.

Steve, I love the way you always manage to sneak in (i.e. create :D ) a new niche category in your collection to justify lusting after a new watch. ;)

Having said that, I can understand the itch for this as it's lovely.

Its one of three colour variants in a (non-limited) edition of the 39mm Speedmaster reduced. As well as blue, it came in red and yellow. Tikkathree on the forum owns a yellow one.

The red and yellow were Schumacher versions, the blue was promoted by someone else (one of the KART racers, probably one of the Andrettis). It's commonly called a Schumacher by association with the other two.

It has a 2 part movement - an ETA 2890 with an add-on Dubois-Depraz chronograph module. Generally easy and relatively cheap to service as they usually only service the 2890 (a no-date 2892) - however if the chrono module needs servicing it's usually a replacement job as apparently they are very difficult to service (just what I've read).

I prefer the 57 blue dial from 2015 Baselworld. Great size too at 41.5 mm. Tough call this or the vintage 57 ...

As we are on a "dreaming about" tread - I would say they are sufficiently different to get both! :silent:

Keen on this but the nearest AD is the other side of Australia in Brisbane. It would my most expensive purchase so far and I'm sure it's not a good idea to buy without handling it first (isn't that one of the Rules?)

Define Watches eh? Virtually just down the road from me, for all the good it does you... I will be visiting them at some stage to look at a couple of models. Maybe next year though.
