perhaps it's the case that making an homage is a better bet than trying to design something completely 'new'. at least a homage will follow a template design that has been proven to work. for me, this is a really interesting watch, and i wanted to like it very much. but too many design features from too many different directions seemingly hurled onto the same watch. i, too, didn't spot the '10', and that seems a remarkable flaw in a design. the panerai styling i like, but it doesn't match the gold hands, which are good, but don't match the industrial colours of the dial or the stainless steel case, the extreme corners of which i don't like, and which don't match the weird font on the number 10. round and round and round....

ah well - i tried. i actually commend steinhart for stepping outside the box - just a bit too far outside for me!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

Credit to Steinhart for trying something new and original, but it's definitely not for me.

I like elements of the face and case, just not together. If this was in the round 44mm polished marine case with silvered hands and a more subtle modern typeface X rather than the 10 indicator then I think it would work

Whilst not a watch for me, I have to say that the movement and the way it is presented looks lovely to me.

It is sold out!

P.S.: Stowa's limited edition (http://www.stowa.de/Seatime+Schwarz+Titan,i1.htm ) is still available. Any explanations?

Steinhart has a loyal following, probably to rival CW's.

It's also good to see them doing something original and not the usual homage as MissF said, and dare I say it is a 'euro' watch.

I'm not surprised it sold out, although not one for me!

Despite my reservations and it not being for me, on looking again at the detailed shots on the website, the attention to detail is superb, and many of the design features taken in isolation are sublime. The movement itself is a work of art!

I should love it, but I just don't! :(

Baffling ?

Not very pleasant on the eye to me ... but selling well

Admittedly they have tried not to do a homage with this new one but i would have expected more style to be honest

My initial thoughts were meh, as the style doesn't really appeal to me, and I like many of the Steinharts...but the more I look at the pics on their website, the more appealing it becomes. The stylized "S" cut into the movement's gear (sorry, don't know the proper name) is very cool! If I ever owned this watch, I'd wear it upside-down! The business side it so much more beautiful!

Whilst it wouldn't be for me, I dont hate it like t he majority here seem to. S3cond layer and the ugly 10 aside, I dont think its too bad. The dial pattern(again without the second layer) reminds me of a record which I actually quite like, and the case is fine IMO, just too big as most cases this shape tend to be.
