The new SMP Bond LE. Yuk!

Post by downer »

Sometimes, I struggle to believe what companies are prepared to do to their products. Take one new SMP and mix it with some awful 007 branding..the result:

I know there has been a long association between Bond and Omega, and some of the LE's have not been too bad, but this one...absolutely awful IMHO.

Looks like Omega are so desperate that they are prepared to sell their soul.

Awful.

Cheap and tacky  Does nothing for one of the world's premier brands. Assume it is a limited run? I hope so.

One for the collectors. Not to wear unless you are 12 years old.

Nope not limted at all, 11,007 pieces will be made.......thats roughly half the total number of watches Vacheron Constantin make a year.

Im unoffended by it but if i met anyone who owned one i would certainly laugh at them. Watch companies seem to be ruining alot of there 'cult' models lately, IWC has made a mess of their new range of pilot watches, Breitling too with the colt redesign...2012 - a rubbish year for classic designs.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Completely agree about IWC. This trend of having a date apeture showing 3 dates - Horrible!

Some of my friends who are Omega partisans believe it will be a sell-out. But I am with most of you... I dislike it.

As a bit of an Omega fanboy, currently wearing my Speedy Moonwatch and having deliberated for some time as to wear the SMP instead, I'm going to have to go against....

... the likers! It's hideous!!!! Quite like the red "50" but otherwise, forget it, it's pants.
