I have a house rule to never buy a watch 'cos it's cheap.

A wise man, or a fool, once said that rules are there to be ignored or interpreted according to the circumstances of the time by any wise man (or was it a fool?)

Anyway I have the one rule and more than one watch which was bought because it was cheap; just saying.
not because it's cheap, More because it's a super watch at a great price. They had one with a recycled dial which didn't appeal but I would buy this instantly if I was after an Aquis, and didn't already have the similar-ish titanium version. (slightly darker dial, but a black bezel insert). Nice pop of red on this as well.

If you can bear to give Mike Ashley your hard earned pennies there’s some good deals on Oris 400 calibre watches on house of Fraser. They are in the outlet section so there’s another 20% off with a promo code

1. Blue or pink pro pilot X for £1965 with code - https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/o ... -77-869046
2. Divers 65 400 for £1680 with code - https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/o ... 1-4-869050
3. Aquis 400 for £1680 with code - https://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/brand/o ... 54--869038

I'm a recent convert to RZE Watches at whose website https://www.rzewatches.com/products/re- ... 5803006243 is a section for "re-verified watches" :

what's a re-verified watch?

"WHAT IS A RE-VERIFIED TIMEPIECE?
After a watch is traded-in, adventure tested by reviewers, or returned, it's inspected by a qualified watchmaker and serviced if necessary. Once we’ve determined it’s adventure ready, a non-fungible token (NFT) is minted to record the model and serial number of the watch and initiate its new warranty period. "

https://www.rzewatches.com/pages/reverified

So these are not new watches but hey, my own Endeavour which I'd posted about here other-brands/non-cw-of-the-day-t5973-77 ... E#p1012894 is completely indistinguishable from brand spanky new. There is a saving over brand spankers of about $160, shipping is free but you may have taxes & duty to consider.

TB Mitchell have added a few more Oris to their sale roster. The best offer seems to be a bronze BCPD at 1250 instead of 2050. Also an interesting/ridiculous 4000m blue calibre 400 diver.

Also a half price Tissot sideral in yellow. Unusual, but I imagine it's fun in the way that some CW offerings are fun.

For you guys in the UK be sure to look for the Duty Paid option at checkout. Marc is experimenting with sales channels.

Not sure if this is the best place or not... but Worn and Wound have a giveaway on their Instagram stories (search "wornandwound") for an Elliot Brown Beachmaster. Need to provide an email address and phone number, and agree to receive text marketing.

*Might a "Giveaways/Competitions" thread be a good one to start?*
I post a few watch pictures now and then to a little Instagram account - 5 followers and counting!

I received an email this morning from W&W about this, as I'm on their mailing list.

Although I've got a Beachmaster already, no harm in having a second, albeit different version. The NIVO Beachmaster Professional featured in W&W's giveaway is a quartz version, I've got an Automatic.

Email only, is required. Mobile phone, with follow on txt marketing, is optional.

Whilst I'm mostly a Real Ale/Cider and whisky drinker, I do enjoy an occasional "ready made" cocktail.

Just back from my local Sainsbury's and they are selling Tails cocktails at £12 bottle with a "free" cocktail shaker thrown in. Not tried yet, but reviews are good.

^^^^ . . . .but if you've bought a ready mix cocktail, why would you need a Cocktail Shaker? :-k :-k

Put ice in the shaker to chill, shake to get a frothy head (Espresso Martini)

Though I normally just drink from the fridge.
