Wondered if you could shed any light on this...

Just bought a Tag in the sale at EJs. Staff were very clear its brand new but has been transferred from another store. Got it home and found there is no warranty card. Everything else is present and correct.

Called Tag. They confirm it's never been registered and say all EJ need to do is send me the card or register a new one with them.

Called the store thinking it would be an easy fix. Manager tells me it's pre-owned. Three staff in the store swore blind it's brand new.

Called EJ head office. Lady there says they don't do pre-owned Tags...

I am now Mr Confused.

Any thoughts anyone?

i'd at least threaten to return it as a product not as described.

and i'd talk to the head office again and tell them they either need to give you the warranty card or refund your money. it sounds like the manager is full of #### and it's possible they either lost or took the card.

The store manager said I could return it. Which is a shame...I like it!

Best case scenario they find the card.

If it really has been transferred from another store, the chances are they might have the warranty card. Could be worth asking, nothing ventured and all that.

I had a similar experience with CH when I purchased a Bremont from them in a sale/ex display, no paper work with the watch, after a lot of bull from their CS I went directly to Bremont, got the watch registered and a paper warranty card but never got the original card. You buy at discount and take your chances. As long as it is registered and you are happy keep it, the only issue you will have is if you want to sell it, may reflect in the price ie not a full set

They are the same as H Samuel - it's a lottery whether items in the shop are a return, the stock has come from another store or sent direct to the store via the warehouse.

I ordered a Rado a while back and it was sent with the wrong papers, but luckily it was stamped with the branch that sent the watch and they sorted it out.

Whenever I buy from Signet Group I expect to return it before it's delivered, but every so often you get lucky.

Interestingly, the watch stopped over the weekend. Couldn't make it up. Awaiting a call from customer services to see if they can locate the card.
