Tag Carrera 1887

Post by JamesH »

It is way out of my price bracket but anyone else love the look of this watch http://www.ernestjones.co.uk/webstore/d ... rap+watch/ ?

Anybody on these boards own one? Or another carrera?
I love how it is modern but retro at the same time and also sporty but also 'dressy'. The C3 malvern looks a little similar but with the sub dials positioned differently.

Yeah if it was in the 1.5K range I would be very tempted.

It's an in house movement, although there was a bit of a kerfuffle about it actually being a Seiko design, so the price isn't all that high considering the competition

I like these, too - in the IWC Portuguese mould.

You could get a used IWC, which is very much like this model, for that price.

I have the original of this (on a steel bracelet) and love it. I was bought it by the wife as a wedding gift, after obviously spending out on engagement and then a fancy wedding ring.

The price has rocketed by some margin since we got mine in late 2010. Had to go to the Tag shop at Westfield to get it ordered in! I was then treated like royalty when we popped into the odd watch shop on honeymoon (who doesn't browse given the opportunity?! )
