I started that way but at a certain limit they want to know your bank account or you can not use them. I had to give in and give them my bank account but every time they suggest paying from it I switch it to the credit card.redd wrote:Funding paypal purchases via your credit card is definately the best way to go.

Re: Steinhart Nav B Chrono
Very jealous of you there Golfjunky, a watch that has hit my wish list quite high up in the last month or so. Needless to say, pics when it arrives please. The same goes for you Dave!
I was not too keen on paypal in the early days but now I find it so quick and easy when selling on ebay it is a no brainer for me.

Congrats Dave. Hope you like it!CornishDave wrote:Richard
The old duffer has managed to open a Papal account and linked it as you suggested Dsh, assume you then get credit card and paypal protection. Also got the Aviation Automatic after Richard's superb photography!!
Now the wait begins have received an acknowledgement from Steinhart.
Golfjunky - have you pulled the trigger???

Don't know if this helps but the c8 was never on my radar and then I saw my mates c8mk2 with a cream face and it simply blew me away, frankly it became embarrassing how I could not stop looking at it and it is right at the top of my wanted list now.golfjunky10 wrote:hi dave, no i havnt yet as im in limbo regarding the C60 Trident / 2011 forum LE i want and the steinhart. i also have a new dink on my C8 MK! this morning so im also thinking of buying a new C8 to keep for best but now dont know if to get the cream Mk2 or MK1. honestly decisions decisions !

Re: Steinhart Nav B Chrono
Well my Steinhart Aviation Automatic arrived today, and no I am no good at photography but it looks like Richard's does in his quality photos.
The things I like about it -
It's dead easy to read the time, very good for my ancient eyes.
It is big and chunky but not as big as I imagined so it does not look silly in my view.
The leather strap I have to say is the best I have found on a watch, up there with a Toshi in my view.
What dont I like -
Well not a lot but the date is just too tiny, personally I would have left it off.
Its really outside my budget, but only just - God bless the credit card.
Like others have said I think the quality matches up to a CW and I can see this watch competing for wrist time with my black C8 and my yellow C600. I like CW watches but currently there is only the cream C8 in either M1 or 2 guise that I really fancy in my price brand. Comparing the two brands, like others have said they both offer excellent quality for the cost. The strap on the Steinhart is superior to those provided by the CW I feel, but of course CW do give you the 60/60. Buying the Steinhart was a bit of a leap of faith for me, with a bit of help from Richard, I may have opted out without that guarantee if Richard was not recommending it.
So all in all very happy with my new toy.
Thanks Richard!

Well done mate. Despite the fact you say you are no good at photography, get some on here anyway - let us be the judge! I am sure they will be fine and it would be great to see some more pics of this cracking timepiece. Don't you just love credit cards!CornishDave wrote:Well my Steinhart Aviation Automatic arrived today, and no I am no good at photography but it looks like Richard's does in his quality photos.

Re: Steinhart Nav B Chrono
I Have just ordered a Steinhart Military auto in black. Had a few problems with the order...... but I have to say that so far their customer service is on par with CW, top stuff!
I email Steinhart as I didn't receive a conformation email for my order and Gunter Steinhart himself email back to say he has my money but cant find my order. Any how, a couple of email back and forth and I think all is sorted Just waiting for the despatched email now.
I thought I would test the waters with Steinhart with one of their cheaper models (it seemed like a good excuse to me) before taking the plunge and ordering the Nav B Chrono II as it will be the most I have spent on a watch so far.
I will post pic's and a follow up for anyone interested at a later date

It has taken me 40 minutes to download a photo of my Aviation Automatic in the Gallery. Whoever reckons this is easy is not an old b****r like me, I found it awful and I can only get one picture to download!
