A great collection....Congratulations

I like the steel bracelet on the U1 - that really looks superb!

As with a few others, I like the seagull too ......

Once again, a super collection - if I may ask, what happened with the gerlach diver?

Great collection. I especially like the Sinns.

No more CWs? Any particular reason?

really nice IAJ, evolving all the time. The Orient mako stands out for me but the seagull is also a winner.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

The Gerlach went as part of a fund-raising exercise. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it and I do miss it as part of my early collecting experience. It was a good solid watch that always got comments, but sometimes you have to let go :?

The simple reason is that I haven't found one that I 'must have!'. I know that sounds like heresy on the CW Forum but it's the truth. I tried a C9 GMT and I couldn't read the time on it outdoors due to shadow and reflection. I was gutted because it was a lovely watch in all other respects. The C3 went for a similar reason - I couldn't see the hands in certain lights and I couldn't tolerate that in a watch. I am determined to buy, and stick with, a CW eventually but the only one I fancy at the moment is the C60 Trident GMT with orange markers.

Can I be banned for saying this? :(

I'm assuming by 'decent' you mean 'expensive'?

What would be your 3 'decent' watches of choice :)

I am still curious to know what your definition of a decent watch is.

Cheers Barry, quality choices, but which one would you wear to fix the car?

Yeah, I actually meant expensive..... which is probably just as subjective as decent

It came out a bit blunt, but let me explain because my collection is showing a lot of similarities with Jim's probably because we have similar taste. I've bought most of my watches for below or around £ 500 and have 7 right now, but most of my colleagues all have 1 watch (for around 3-4 k) that they wear every day. So lately I'm contemplating which direction I want to go... On one hand I'm very much like Jim and really enjoy the odd and niche brand which are very good vfm, but on the other hand I can only wear 1 watch at the time so 20 watches in a box sat at home seems a bit of a waste.

So now for my top 3 of Jim's collection:
Hamilton Chrono
Vostok 100se
Longinese Legend Diver

Purely based on looks and not on pricepoint :D and considering that I already have a Sinn 556i and an OVM.

PS: I'm warming more and more to the look of the Seagull 1963
