#Scroog - First off: Congratulations on getting your new job to end your year on an upbeat note

Thinking of the 'don't have a huge budget' element how about G. Gerlach Otago - assuming the blue dial version is still available.

An alternative left field(ish) suggestion, assuming your are sticking IIRC in the Motor trade, how about a C70 D-Type hoping that one will appear in the post Christmas NN sale?

Hope this helps

How about an AEVIG Valkyr? I'm not far away from you(Taunton) if you wanted to pop and take a look.

Of those Steinys I prefer the Titanium. Congratts on the new job

If I had the funds I would jump all over the Hydroconquest that Downer posted, a great price for a great watch (assuming good condition). That blue dial version is next on my list after I finish saving for a white dial C60 600 8)

Two excellent suggestions, both of which I was previously unaware of, and both of which are now on the list to be looked at in more detail...

Thank you both

Apart from being a CWL, and a chrono, it fits the criteria perfectly! :P

And besides, it'll be way over budget

Thanks Guy

I am still in the Motor Trade - joined VAG at exactly the wrong time with Audi's little brother. They've had a bit of a rough year, as have the rest of the Group, but at least it can only go one way from here so I'm excited by the prospects and the challenge ahead :D

I'm not familiar with the G. Gerlach Otago so I'll look into it.

I've never been a fan of the D-Type (new logo thing again, sorry  ) but I do keep looking at the C70 GP Chronometers. I really don't want another CWL this time though, which is probably a good job as I don't want another Quartz yet (even if it is a Chronometer)

Another one I'm not familiar with, so I just might come and have a look.

I was in Taunton a few weeks ago with SWMBO so came to find you, but you have a sensible job and don't open on Sundays :(

I am finding it very hard to come up with a reason not move on this one...

I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that the GMT version is already on my list, so would I be disappointed with the 'standard' version?

I looked at those when I wanted something chunky, but ended up going with the C4 Phoenix.

Not really the look I am going for this time around, but like many on here I have an admiration and respect for Seiko that I would otherwise not have had, so will undoubtedly own one (or more) at some point.

The Hydroconquest looks like an excellent deal. Slightly complicated by your desire for GMT, but I'd suspect the Hydro could be flipped without loss as and when you decided to swap.
