Not my mod, but currently my watch. This is a mod Omega should have done instead of the myriad of god-awful color combos they’ve come up with for the PO the past few years. Polar PO with the gray bezel replacing the white.

Yep, much better than the standard one, and as good as, if not better than, any of the standard colourways.gwells wrote:Polar PO with the gray bezel replacing the white.

Personally Gary, I think your mods are a travesty and you should be banned from owning any future Omegas..
OK, not really! Great work and fantastic results.
As you know, I struggle with steel bezels too and I like different/personal.
BA blue bezel and Gemini both standout for me. Legend works very well with RG BAs, also wander how it would look with blued BA hands?
Love the Rising Sun and contrasting hands massive improvement in legibility etc. I can't decide if I'm a fan of the Omega very thin stick hands as a whole. They do work in orange though against blue and actually also in white against black dial, ok I've answered my own question

I did consider the blued hands Stephen - and I could have gotten hold of a set as well... I decided that as there’s no blue on the watch that the rose gold hands would be a better match with the subtle champagne of the dial centre.Soporsche wrote:Legend works very well with RG BAs, also wander how it would look with blued BA hands?
Was it the right decision? I don’t know to be truthful, but with the price of the handsets it’s an expensive experiment in order to get the answer.
There are some slightly thicker (wider) hands used in watches like the MkII and some Seamasters fitted with 861 movements. The orange hands are an example of this. Do I wish the hands were wider in the Rising Sun? If I had the choice, yes; but the thin black stick hands are *very* readable in real life, so it looks more “factory” with the thinner hands - if such a thing can be said...Soporsche wrote:Love the Rising Sun and contrasting hands massive improvement in legibility etc. I can't decide if I'm a fan of the Omega very thin stick hands as a whole. Edit: It was also a matter of availability at the time as well, none of the wider hands were to be found...
