Some more Steinhart love.....

Post by village »

Now....i don't like black pvd'd watches...i've tried and failed up till now.
I saw this on a sales corner elsewhere and kept coming back to look at it. As the price plummeted it got to point where i had to give it a whirl.
I have to say i like it :)

Its a 3 month old Steinhart NavB-Chrono II with a Valjoux 7750 as its engine.

Some stats of the website:
Hour and minute hands silver with super-luminova white
Second hand silver, with super-luminova white.
Case: stainless steel, black pvd coating
Back: stainless steel screwed (engraved)
Diameter: 44 mm,without crown
height: ca.16mm
Weight: 134 g
Dial: Black, date disc in English
Crystal: Sapphire crystal, interior side is anti-reflecting
Bezel: stainless steel black pvd, satined
Indices and Hands: arabic index with super-luminova white
Lug width: 22mm
WaterRes: 50m/ 5 ATM nach DIN
Buckle: deployant clasp with pusher, stainless steel black pvd

In the steel,it looks good & feels good....it has an air of quality about it. One of the issues i have with pvd is its propensity to rub & wear and ,indeed, even though this is only 3 months old there is the slightest bit of rubbibg around a bit of the crystal and a couple of tiny dints. Strangely though this doesn't bother me on this watch...it almost seems to work (and it means i won't be too precious about wearing it as well!)
Anyhow...some pictures....

Nice catch Andy.

Excellent lume shot. Seems a very easy to read dial.

Enjoy!

Like you I kept going back to that sales post, not sure I wanted another PVD watch only to flip after a few weeks!

Then I clicked back to it one more time after realising that it was too nice a watch to pass up only to find you've nabbed it!

Damn and blast! Curse my indecisiveness!

Well done on grabbing a lovely looking piece and a propper bargain to boot. (said through gritted teeth)

Classic black and white 7750. Strange how the chrono pushers are not PVD as well. But they actually match up with the strap studs so it works.

Very nice. I saw this on the bay a couple of weeks ago (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STEINHART-Nav-B-C ... 0553669767) - I assume it is the same one.... Could not believe what it sold for and wished I'd had a go.

When you get fed up with it let me know!

Steinhart are definitely one of my favourite brands right now. I think they offer great value and they do feel like quality watches.

Sorry, I assumed you'd got it from someone who got that one from ebay. 8)
