If we all liked the same thing it would be a pretty dull world :)

It gets a resounding "meh" from me. As Reggie747 said, it's a bit bland.

Quite nice Simple face and very legible

The Quartz "slower sweep" function makes it a bit different

Not a bad price

Thanks for the info :D

I quite like it as an interesting movement choice – check out how you set the time:

I would have preferred brushed steel, but I have flieger/pilot watches covered anyway so I probably won't be dabbling.

The CWL one is a Swiss Made modified Valjoux 7750 with a ceramic and titanium case and a 5 year guarantee. The Smiths is a 3 hander using a Swiss quartz movement but not made in Switzerland with a 2 year guarantee. I am not sure that Timefactors would consider it their aviation flagship. Not exactly comparing apples to apples. And having see the C1000 I was impressed by it to include it on my wish list even though I am not keen on chronos.

I've been following the development of this watch and got involved in a bit of the banter. I think it's a nice watch, bar the NATO, which I think is hideous. Someone previously posted a photo with it on a black leather strap with green stitching and I thought that was much nicer. A lot has happened since I was really up for this watch and I'll probably pass.

You say 'not made in Switzerland' like it's a bad thing?

Let's face it, SH don't seem to be the best at screwing parts together given my experiences, which just goes to prove that just because you're in Switzerland, it doesn't magically mean you are a world class company.

It should be a worry to CW that I have more confidence that a £3-400 Smiths will be built right than a £1500 CW....

I have to agree and the band colour cheapens the look, I feel. I know you could add another strap, but ...

Well I invested in a distressed leather strap with Pvd buckle it will look ace and it should have 'cw worried imo cw is just becoming a rip off like most other big brands

Yet we do have a comparison. The C5 quartz is a three hander but the difference is it has a normal Swiss quartz movement and is not PVD. But it comes with a nice leather strap rather than a NATO. Are you saying that those 2 options would make CWL charge £500?

When I was going around SalonQP the one thing that came to mind is what good value CWL are. If you don't like them you don't have to buy them.

Yes I am suggesting that, of course it would be extra cost and no doubt another limited edition.

Also I apologise for maybe not being clear enough cwl have some great value stuff but it all used to be not just some of it.

I must admit though the ones that annoy me the most are the stupidly priced c70 watches with chopped up stuff in the back but each to their own, I hope to be getting a c5 slimline for xmas, great price for a handwinder that looks so classy.
