That's a beauty!
How does the strap system work? Is it a normal spring bar hidden under the case?

It's a one-piece strap fitted onto the case-back and secured by a ring.

A stunning piece - great robust looking case and the domed crystal is beautiful.

Very comfortable too! The elliptical case with no lugs (36mm 12-6 axis, 42mm 9-3 axis) sits perfectly on my wrist, whereas a 42mm round watch with lugs feels big because of my narrow but muscular (fat ) wrist profile!28800bph wrote:Very cool strap system, thanks for posting the details.

Big thumbs up from me. The watch is beautiful! Love the case shape and dial design.

Thanks, asquerth. Seeing how 38mm watches look on you, you could wear this comfortably I reckon. There is a ladies' size but it's quite a lot smaller from what I remember.asqwerth wrote:Big thumbs up from me. The watch is beautiful! Love the case shape and dial design.

OK, Graham, since you asked so nicely...footycrazy wrote:Very nice Steve, quite a collection of Omega,s your gathering
How about a group shot
Riverside walk...
Complete with ducks and boats...
Latest SOTC...no room at the inn!
Actually not a problem...I'm usually wearing one!
Might have to do a bit of thinning out, though; one or two not getting a look-in!
And we all know who's coming for a pub lunch today, don't we?

Very nice watch. I have tried to get one a couple of times but the ones in my budget are beaten up or if it is any good I get out bid at the last minute. I have a Mirexal version (spring bars in the case) but it is a lovely shape. Wears bigger than most vintage but small enough to sit on the wrist and be comfortable. Well done.

Re: Should I...? (I did! Pics added)
Bad luck, androo - keep on trying!
One thing I would say is that I have never bid for a vintage watch on eBay, in fact never bought one unseen, though I know of a few reputable dealers now who maintain "shops" on eBay, and I would feel OK buying from them.
When I was feeling my way a little I bought quite a few cheapies from collectors' fairs. I still have a couple languishing in a box, but wouldn't go down that road again.
I'm lucky to live near Norwich, which has a few independent watchmakers with their own premises. One is a little out of my range, but reputedly very good.
The second, from whom I've bought a few, does a lot of servicing and repair work but is also a trader. He typically has about 50-60 watches in his window. He always has a good range of Omegas and I've also seen the odd Rolex, JLC and Zenith in there. Unlike some of the London stores and "better" websites, he doesn't have loads of "prestige" pieces selling for £2-3k; his prices are very reasonable and I've found him very reliable.
The third, from whom I got the Dynamic, is a one-off. He looks around retirement age (but some of these chaps go on for ever!) and has a tiny workshop in a medieval alley. His income comes almost entirely from repairs and servicing, but occasionally he will buy a watch to resell "if he likes it". He worked at an Omega service centre for 15 years! He says he doesn't want to make a huge profit from selling watches, and told me he was glad this one was going to someone who would value it.
Bottom line - Dynamics online are typically going for upwards of £500-600 depending on the seller. The cheapest one I've seen is £340 and it has horrible damage to the dial. This one has a very small ding on the case and very slight damage to one minute marker. It's a beauty, and it seems to be keeping very good time and has a 12-month guarantee from someone who isn't going anywhere. £350. No haggling.

So you went back to get it - nice one Steve. The watch looks lovely (although not particularly to my taste ) and your set looks great.

Re: Should I...? (I did! Pics added)
I find the Dynamic to be a special thing, no other watch i've worn makes me thing blimey thats different every time i wear it but feels so comfortable and acceptable at the same time.
Yours seems slightly bigger than my version (seen here doing its favorite UFO) but its a lovely looker - gold ones in that good a condition are very hard to come by.
Oh and great movement aswell
