Daz, have a look at the at Chronomaster.co.uk, this isn't a plug but Neal carries several lines of hand wound watches many of which fall within your budget.

My personal recommendation from experience would be something from Glycine, a Incursore perhaps: well made, understated and accurate time keepers.

Hope this helps, Nick

Daz - I've heard it's a very good brand. Unfortunately I can't speak from personal experience.

That watch looks really nice - but it's 44mm, won't sit properly on my 7" wrist I'm afraid :( I just returned a 43mm Meistersinger for the same reason.

I've just had a look on Lindburgh and Benson website (Schaumburg watches); fantastic. These look different from almost anything you can look at. Only UK outlet seems to be Chronomaster. The diving range with the SS bracelet looks stunning and most of the dive watches are 42mm which suits me fine :) . I've been wondering what my bigger purchace might be this year and now I think I know :D . Prices seem to be very reasonable for the quality.

that crown is so out of scale!!!!

I think it just unscrews and is held firm with locking fluid, so it should be fairly easy..........

I like the design of the watch, but it looks as if they left it to Stevie Wonder to choose what crown would look good on it

Something a tad subtler would be good me thinks.....

I know of lots of hand wound watches. It depends on the price range you're looking for, and location.

I know there's a particular Maurice Lacroix model that's selling for US $1200 or less. The Nomos line is almost all hand-wound. Not sure of the starting prices. And my MeisterSinger is hand-wound, less than $800.

I'm looking in the same range as cw's watches mostly sub £250 its a hard price bracket. The nomos is great and the stowa original both great choices but more than I would spend. once you cross the £550 mark more option come up.
