If this is a voucher from an insurance company then they have bought it at a discount already and I have heard many stories saying that Goldsmith will not discount anything using these vouchers. Even if you negotiate first and then pull out the voucher they will say that discounts are not allowed with the voucher.

I have heard that too Ian. apparently they will honour instore advertised sale prices, but not any locally negotiated discount.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I do like the Oris suggestion, but ernest jones or leslie davis do not stock them. Fraser Hart do, but i have less money to spend with them. I also keep looking at the Longines Hydroconquests.

Re: Recommend me a big brand watch up to £1.5k
Dear All.
Thank you once again for your suggestions. One in particular fit the bill, especially when i found a version with orange hands and face markers on a black face. So I popped in to my local Fraser Hart expecting to try one on but then have to order the specific model, but lo and behold they had the exact one in stock so i treated myself right away to an Oris Aquis. Sorry for the poor quality pics (and wrong date set )

You've made a great choice from the options you had. Great design, ceramic bezel and a really cool brand as well, congrats and enjoy itgbbird wrote:Dear All.

An excellent choice. Given the budget and being tied to an AD made it a bit tricky, but that's one of the ways I would have spent. Enjoy!
So I wish I was James Bond, just for the day.

Well done with your choice, such an underrated brand and great looking in the orange/black combo.
I've got a goldsmiths gift card with £1170 loaded onto it to buy this very watch but have been holding off until Goldsmiths hold a flash sale.
