The lume on Seamasters is superb, I use mine to read under the covers after Mummy has declared "lights out"! In fact, on occasion, Lorn andI have used ours like light sabres and had fights in bed - multi use watches. Excellent!
yeah.. for all that it would cost them (a few pennies per watch i imagine) CW should really up their lume game. Theres absolutely no reason that they cant use better lumes.
Especially disappointing on the C60 trident. Which should have lume comparable to the seamaster, and indeed theres no reason it couldnt have had. Bizarely CW chose to handicap the watch in this one key area.
Before I got my Seamaster, I never really understood what all the fuss about "lume" was all about. Every watch seemed to be one degree of pathetic in this regard, and my CW's were as bad (or worse) than most. Then I got the SMP (now Lorns)and I was mightily impressed. When I got my new one, I was astonished as it is so bright it (honestly) throws a slight beam if held under the bed cloths! Alright, the beam only extends an couple of inches but bloody hell, not bad at all.
Conversely, my Speedy is as pathetic as most other watches.
probably because the SMP is designed to be a tool watch, and a diving watch. The speedmaster is not designed to be used in low visibility environments.
the C60 on the other hand, IS, and really needs brighter lume
