^+1 Congratulations. The engineering quality is excellent, and the attention to detail very impressive. Looking forward to seeing pictures when you get it. The unboxing experience in fab.

I don’t believe there is a forum (start one?), but the guys are regulars on Instagram @zerowestwatches & @zerowest.studio and they’ll keep you entertained with eye-candy every few days.

I have a question for those here that own both Zero West and Bremont, of which I know there are a few. How does the Zero West wear in comparison to a 43mm Bremont?

ZW watches generally wear a little larger, partly because they are (1mm!), and partly because of the case designs. Some general observations below, though the degree to which they apply depends on models for example. I’m comparing my Alt1 and ZW RAF-C, though with the exception of the 45mm LS1, I think all ZWs share the same case dimensions.

The ZW cases are almost all 44mm, with a large crown on some models, but very wearable at just under 50mm L2L. The cases sides tend to be quite vertical, so they can be a bit “slabby” at the base, but the bevelled top edge and (on some models) the flutes soften the effect visually.

Bremonts tend to have curvaceous casebacks, so the footprint on your wrist is a little smaller.

I would say the Alt1 feels compact & wears slightly small for its size, but the ZW’s wear pretty true. No diver bezels in sight in Emsworth either, though some models do have black rehauts to reduce the look and feel.

If you’re considering buying a ZW then you must visit the boutique beforehand, partly because these are almost certainly nothing like you’ve ever worn before, and partly because the experience is part of the package. They’ve refurbished since I was there last year (I’d love to go again) but it is a long trip for many, so make it worthwhile, make a proper trip of it. I went on a Saturday, Andrew is a terrific guy (I didn’t meet Graham - I sense he’s a bit more introverted, or maybe it’s just his Black Ops background). Have fun!

Cheers for the in depth comparison, much appreciated. My best fitting/most comfortable watches are my MB2 and my ALT1-C so this is very useful. I have little interest in dive bezels anymore for some reason so all good there. I’d love to go down there, especially as I believe Carl (gasgasbones) has his ‘time machine’ there currently? However, 5 hours plus on the train with 3 changes means an overnight stay which is out the question due to work commitments currently and a 500 odd mile round trip ain’t happening there and back in a day either, especially taking into account charging stops in the ETron. Food for thought though, thanks again

I havent got a Bremont, but having tried a good few on, on several occasions, I can totally agree with the comparison.

Im in Bolton, so it was an all dayer when I went down a couple of months ago, with several train changes. It is a pain to do, but its 100% worth it! And yes, the time machine is there. Its an impressive bit of kit!

The Marlin engine is a bit special as well! Drinking your brew (or beer) off the glass top of it is superb!

Comparison wise...it's very similar to a SOLO-PW-R (43).
I agree with what has been said previously but, hopefully, a picture is worth a thousand words

In the next 7-10 days I think mate.

The watch is clearly a Zero West, using their case shape and stunning lug design but its different enough from the other models in a few ways. And the story with this one..... oh the story....!!!! :megaeek:

Got the email yesterday :)
...which states that: 'In a few weeks time, all will be revealed'
Looking forward to seeing what they have done :coffee2:
Looks like they are using the new brushed steel case for this one.
Obviously Motorsport themed based on the case back - Goodwood perhaps!?

^^^ Logically, the number of models in the limited edition would suggest 1958. The photo suggests it wouldn’t be a million miles away. But I know very little about motorsport, so I’m just throwing that one in as a guess. Odd numbers in limited editions from watch companies are usually fairly predictable.

Looking at the crown, I’d also hazard a monopusher chronograph.

I haven’t seen an email, and I am on their mailing list, and I’m in regular contact with Andrew. 😢

Anyway, Google reveals this:

“The sophisticated new Vanwall overcame its initial fragility within two seasons with nine Grand Prix victories accruing in 1957-1958”
