Yep. That WAS the plan. I spent a while this morning photographing and listing my MBII on here, Alt1tude and eBay. Having done that, I checked on the Zenith advert - and discovered it was sold..

Somehow, I was not too sorry to remove the MBII listings and take my time to decide on the next step. :)

I for one am glad! The mb is a funny little watch. It is easily ignored on the winders, but when I wear it, I remember how much I love it.

Saying that, my little motley collection cannot be compared to yours so I have an easier choice!

Richard coming in very late here ( I cast a vote for keep the IWC yesterday and then that pesky work thing kept getting in my way of my post :) )

...but thrilled karma flared up and kept the IWC away from serious parting consideration.

I do love the Zenith El Primerio and that model is striking. My observation is that when Downer is in pursuit mode, he shall find a nice version of it for the watch box. :)

Now not my watch box, but the Bremont MBII departure make sense but the Orange Planet Ocean would make a heck of a summer, vacation and holidays watch. Perhaps check with your Omega AD's as one in Edmonton told me the Orange Bezel PO was being phased out. One AD is not an authority, so curious if it can be confirmed elsewhere. If true, the Orange PO may be a little more sought after.

It gets so tricky when the watchbox has so many stunning options inside like yours!!

Congrats on keeping the IWC.

Lance, you are right to question the wisdom of selling the orange PO. It is indeed a great summer watch, but with the fact that it overlaps with my POLM and my determination that I shall fund my next one through sales of existing watches, the decisions become tougher.

In fact, I have (almost) decided to hold off any serious acquisitions until next year, but we shall see.

And as an aside, I saw a nice deal on this yesterday...

Just read this and I agree the right decision has been made. This collecting lark is a real nightmare at times!

Right here

£1900 to £1425... Strange thing is, I can't find the model on the Longines website.

Longines don't show every varient on their site. Check out the hydroconquest, missing a ton of colours.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

That is a nice Longines, love a Panda/reverse panda dial.

Think you made a good call with the IWC Richard. I do also think it definitely makes sense to consolidate rather than endlessly expand your collection. Your collection is the envy of many including me but I do think there is something to be said for having a collection where you feel so attached to every one of your watches, maybe that isn't the case at the moment as you are considering selling a couple.

Generally speaking, mine are 'just' watches. Even the one that I have created an 'emotional' attachment to (my POLM) is still just 'stuff' in the end. If I needed cash for my family, it would be sold, without compunction.

There are some that come and go, and others that I can't imagine selling right now, but things change, and I don't feel the need to be wedded to my watches. In my case, my shrinking wrist (my wrist is now about 1" smaller than 1 year ago) has had an impact on the type of watches I enjoy wearing, which is why the MBII is on sales corner.

congrats, not sure how many inches around the waist losing an inch on the wrist equates to but sounds like good work there.

and of course I wasn't insinuating that a watch could hold the attachment comparable to actual important things...
