Sabbath, thanks for those pics, perfect! I think it will be ok, but I think I'll still need to go and try one on to be sure.
Chrisw, no need for your coat, everybody likes different things!
I'm just starting to look at some different watches for me, as I'd always discounted anything less than 42mm previously.

Ideal number of watches in your collection = current number of watches + 1...

No problem - if you are thinking it will be okay, you probably do need to try it on.
Ironically, despite my smaller wrist size, i used to over look watches under 42mm. CW changed my thinking here - i ordered a C9 BDD and a white C65 and they both looked absolutely massive on my wrists. They were wonderful watches but I just couldn't pull them off. Since then I have been going smaller - both in width and very importantly in height. The Ranger is probably a smidgen too big all round for my ideal tastes today. The Explorer is spot on - to me it feels a little smaller than it's 39mm. At one point this gave me pause for thought. I have evaluated all my watches over the past week and have considered selling each and every one. The Explorer is in the box for good
The Explorer is a great watch and should you get one I a sure you will love.
On some other points, the crown is small but it adds to the watch rather than deters, the hands are fantastic, the bracelet does taper a lot but that probably makes it more comfortable - it's the only braclet I enjoy wearing and find comfortable.
