Photo Frenzy

Post by dant100 »

I've had a bit of spare time today so decided to take some photos of my collection, I got a bit carried away. Here are a few photos of each watch from various angles. Some are CW but I thought I'd get shouted at if I put this in the gallery as most are not.

Enjoy...
CW first I think.

Now the rest, not in as much detail you'll be pleased to hear!!!!

Seiko 5

Thats quite possibly the most boring movement ever to be displayed behind glass!!!!! :D

Tissot PRS200 my oldest watch. Has a beautiful blue face on it that looks great when it catches the light, thats what Im hoping the C6 LE will be like.

Seiko Arctura Kinetic. This watch has some great shapes on it and seamless integration from strap to case.

Thats the last of the 'proper watches', now for the rest.

Markus Ruby Skeleton, picked up off 'the bay'.

An Armani I picked up while on holiday in New York as an emergency new years eve dress watch.

And finally my beater, Casio G Shock, that's done a couple of tours of sandy places with me and survived to tell the tale. (please don't swear at me for putting up a pic of a digital watch) :?

Thanks for sticking with me all the way to the end, go off and have a well earned nap.... I'm going to!!!! :D
So many watches, so little time (and money!!!).

Great collection there dant100. I like the look of that Marcus Ruby - not a marque I had heard of before, but looked up their website - they have some nice looking watches, but little info on the movement they use. :(
Do you know what the movement is? Does it work well?

Nice pics there....what camera and lens are you using??

My late Father always had Tissot watches, so I always tend to look at this brand, and saw a PRS200 with black leather strap that I quite like, and looked something like a watch my Dad had at one point, so I may acquire one of those at some point :)

PS I like the piccy of the Seiko standing up from the side.....kinda reminds me of a Klingon Bird of Prey from Startrek :)

A Canon EOS 400D with a 60mm 2.8f Macro lens

They are nice, I have seen a couple in other colours particularly black which also looks good, but I have never seen any watch with a face that looks as good as the one above does in sunlight outdoors, it almost looke=s like its spinning... gorgeous, and impossible to relay in photos.

I knew it reminded me of something, but couldn't think what it was.....thanks. I was thinking the aliens from War of the worlds (not the crap tom cruise film).

It was easier than i'd hoped actually, midday so lots of natural light in the kitchen and just put a white kitchen tray behind as a backdrop. Used a flash with a diffuser just to fill in the gaps and try to eliminate the reflection from the windows. As I've said, I am still learning the art of photography so today was quite lucky really that the photos turned out alright. I still can't claim to be as good as yourself though Hans!!! :gott:

Phew...racking up the posts here!!!

To be honest I haven't got a clue about the movements or indeed details about the brand/marque. It was a quick find on ebay when I was in the market for a skeleton whilst fuelling my desire to include one in my fledgling collection. I stuck in a bid without really looking too hard and won it!! Only cost £40 odd including P&P so not bad for the money. I'm not really up on my movements as that sort of thing comes second to looks for me when it comes to watches (I know, I'm a shallow heathen!!!!! )
I've since looked on the web but have so far not found anything else other than the company website which as you've seen doesn't have much detail.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Hi there Dante100. Re the Marcus Ruby - you got a very good deal there, looking at the MRSP on the web.

No big deal about the movement - is very accurate though?

I've just got one of these aswell, altho it hasn't come yet!

This is what they say about it on Ebay...

'Europa Timepieces have been selling high quality watches on eBay since 2002. Our reputation and eBay feedback profile speaks for itself. We are reliable, honest and trustworthy sellers with a high regard for customer service and satisfaction. All our watches are finished to very high standards and only manufactured from the finest materials such as 316L grade stainless steel, 18k gold, hardened mineral glass and genuine single cut diamonds or sapphires with Swiss movements manufactured by world renowned watch movement companies such as ETA and ISA. Our high volume mail order distribution process allows us to offer the most competitive prices anywhere in the world'

I'll have a good look at it when it arrives, but for around the £40 mark, I thought it was worth a punt :)
