One of the benefits of the forum is the cultural exchange.

Re: Oris TT1 Grey Day Date
Been sitting at home all day, sick with a bad chest cough and fever, staring at my computer screen, cursing at how my "bespoke Oris" has been sitting at the UPS depot in Laurel, Maryland, a scant 25 miles away.
Haven't been able to sleep and needed a distraction from yet ANOTHER terrible post-season effort from the local hockey team, so I've been looking on the Internet for actual photos of the TT1 Day Date, and I'm really surprised at just how few real photos there are of it. Plenty of shots of TT1 Divers and the old TT1 Sport models (or even the F1 Model that vikingdrvr is considering), but the only wrist shot I could find of the current TT1 was this one:
Not really helping to scratch my itch since this is not the same as the one that I have coming tomorrow, and I don't really like the way this one looks because it seems like it'd be awful to read quickly.
Anyway, hoping I'll feel better tomorrow, and maybe a new piece of wrist candy will help the recovery process along!
I've also finally managed to get my Magrette Bronze / Brass back on its way to New Zealand for the recall, and I hope to be putting a $285 dollar credit toward one of these:
I don't think I would have gone for this at full price, but if all goes through, I should only end up paying about $160 for it (even though I know that I'm actually still paying the credit amount in a way), so I think it's worth giving it a try to see if another crack at a Magrette works out better for me.

It's here. I like it. It looks smart and has a bit of flash and personality without being blingy. The rubber strap is going to take some getting used to. I would rather that it had a screw down crown. It's a push in crown instead, and it's not entirely flush.
Still, I'll get some real good use out of this one.

So it arrived, congrat! I like it thin and unique, very legible too. The absence of lugs help the watch stands out despite the simplistic design.
I would be wary of bezel scratches though.
