The Orion is the one I'd like to add to my collection (though in 35mm size), but I'd have to go with the Speedy as the one to get. For reasons already mentioned!

Personally I love my larger Nomos -both with and without date. I would not swap any of them for a smaller size.

My Orion 38 has a date is just fabulous. My Tangente 38 hasn't got a date and it loses nothing in style or specialness. My two larger Nomos (Club and Ahoi) are both 40mm and are without a date and both are about perfect to wear.

I do hear some negative comments about the lugs but I fail to understand the issue. The Club and the Ahoi are my 2 largest watches at 40mm and they fit me perfectly and are so comfortable. Much more comfortable than the 41mm BBR I owned (and flipped). Personally I also love the slightly larger gap which gives the brand a bit of extra uniqueness.

Each to their own...

Some Nomos shots of 38/40mm watches - without date in the main.

The 38mm are handwound and the 40mm are automatics.

I hope these help you to decide if a Nomos38 is for you or not.

Absolutely off topic: The automatic watches use a different movement and therefore the position of the small second is different to the handwound versions. Somehow the Tangente 38 looks more balanced than the Orion 38 without the date without being able to put my finger on it.

And now back to the topic...

Speedy for me...looks ok with a suit but very casual as well. Space pedigree and a bracelet... No question as far as I'm concerned.
