Omega warranty card not with new watch
Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
I'd payed for it, then he went to get the box and make one final adjustment on the bracelet.
It was only when I did some research later that I found out the card should have been with it.

Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
I bought a new old stock Planet Ocean a couple of months ago from an high street AD , the cards were not with the watch as I was informed they were mislaid but they would re-order from Omega in Switzerland, they took the serial number off the watch and a new set eventually came. It took 5 weeks to get them, I did have to keep at it though to make sure they did deliver as promised. After some on line research regarding Omega warranty cards they will only now issue one set of cards out as it can be difficult and expensive to obtain a replacement set, you will be ok if you bought from an Omega AD first hand though, just make sure you keep at them if they do not seem to make enough effort.

Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
I am aware of some AD's that withhold the warranty cards until their return/exchange period has passed. I disagree with this policy, but do understand it as replacing cards do cost them considerably. Once filled in they cannot be altered so a replacement would be required.

Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
I've spoken with Omega and they confirmed that the warranty card should have been with it. So I phoned the AD and told them I was not happy as it wasn't. They said that it had possibly been lost and would get another. I replied that this wasn't the impression I was given when I bought it. Also told them for all I know this watch had been sold to someone else and returned without the card. In effect not a new watch.
It was the only one in store, but they are trying to arrange to get a brand new replacement in for Friday, with the warranty card I hope.
One more question. Should there be one or two cards with it. The warranty card and a second that is the pictogram card?
Thanks for the replies I've had so far, you've all been most helpful.

The two omegas I bought from AD's both had the warranty cards. Sounds a bit off to me.

Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
Not meaning to sound controversial here, but some people don't half create problems/issues for themselves. I'm presuming the purchase was at least a couple of grand. Why would you hand money over and walk out the shop without checking everything and doing a bit of research first? As soon as they said 'it'll be sent to you', common sense would have said to me 'I don't think so, I'll keep my money in my pocket and check this out before I go any further'. Then, if they are wrong and telling me a load of b*ll*cks I wouldn't go back and buy from them on principal as if they can lie about one thing then they can lie about anything (something I can't abide). I would go back and tell them though! Maybe it's just me that doesn't trust anyone, particularly sales people, but I always want all i's dotting and t's crossed before handing over a penny. My apologies if this offends, I've tried to word it as polite as I can, but it might stand you in better stead for any future purchases.

My thoughts exactly. With the amount of money involved, I’m not handing over a penny and walking out the door with an uneasy feeling in my gut. I’ve walked away from purchases before over the feeling of unease and will do it again.TigerChris wrote:Not meaning to sound controversial here, but some people don't half create problems/issues for themselves. Not controversial at all. I've read in the past that Bremont send you the COSH certification later, so when the salesman said we get the cards from Omega and then send them on, I believed him. It was only later when I saw a few other things the penny dropped that I should have had them there and then.

It’s true about the Bremont COSC certificate. The dealer registers the watch in your name and you receive the COSC cert in a week or so, along with a cap or luggage tag (or similar).

Give them a ring. Send them a copy of the receipt and a copy of the other half of the registry card, and they will see you right.stefs wrote:I'm bloody well still waiting for mine! Re: Omega warranty card not with new watch
A bit different, I know but back in 2007 I bought a ‘delivery mileage’ (only 16 Miles) Mazda 6 estate from a Mazda dealer. It was pre-registered to the dealer and with the kerfuffle and excitement of collecting my new car, I didn’t realise that the lovely leatherette folder I was given, didn’t contain any registration documents. As the dealer was 25 miles away I phoned them, to be told sorry, we’ll post them out to you. An easy oversite, I’m sure but I wasn’t worried, after all, they were a bonafide dealer. It was a month or two later, before I realised that I still hadn’t received them. ( busy with work & life I guess) Well, after many phone calls and threats to report them to goodness knows who, always receiving failed promises, the paperwork turned up 6months later! I now realise that this is an underhand and, I believe illegal practice that they do so that they can sell a new car as ‘delivery miles’ only and, therefore, cheaper by avoiding the vat or new car tax. I’m not fully conversant with the technicalities of it but it’s dodgy. I believe that the buyer can be unknowingly party to the fraud as you are driving around in a car that’s still registered to them? The next time I came across this same practice on a Ford, they explained that they could take a deposit and I could have the car at the discount once it was 3 months old. With a £3000 saving, we waited!
Steve.
