Omega co-axial servicing

Post by MadJam250 »

Wondering if anyone knows the service intervals for the 2500 and 8500 co-axial movements please? Omega's own FAQs indicate it's about 4 years, which is the standard interval, whereas other info suggests that due to minimised friction such movements didn't need to be serviced as frequently. Thanks.

Sure but the oil's used still have a shelf life. If it's working fine then leave it and send only to Omega, the co axial seems to be a right git to service properly.

I think at the time of its run the 2500 was four years maybe the 8500 is seven? The escapement still needs a tiny sliver of oil to work properly on the 2500. Doubt it does on the 8500.

Seven years was quoted when I got my 8500.

I guess that makes sense Pete. Ater all the 2500 was just a 2892 with the added Co ax escapement adddd i think.

But as you say above, if its working fine - dont worry.

I've been told 7 years for the 2500 and 10 years for the 8500 movement. Unsure if it's fact or fiction as it was anecdotal. I serviced my AT 2500 movement at 7 year mark.

I think the price for "complete maintenance" is £310 on strap and £340 on bracelet (for the 3 hander, the GMT/Chrono would be more).
