Well done  ! In your (justifiable) excitement you've forgotten the movement shots! ](*,)
I think the colour variations in the dial are great.
So what's next BB or C8?

Doh! You are quite right, I forgot! I thought about it at one stage, but didn't want to take the plastic cover off yet, but was going to do it anyway, then time got short and I forgot! I will try to do some after my holiday, cos the movement is blooming lovely! :)

What's next? Forcible castration I should think when the wife finds out!

On the watch front, I'm now officially skint for a while. But when I get some pennies together the FLE 2013 and a cream C8 are probably next. Then the Tudor BB, but that will need a savings and disposals plan first! :)

A beautiful watch, congratulations! I just love the color.
Thought I might be coming home with a Speedy today that a local pawn shop had been advertising, but it was just too rough for the money they were asking and we couldn't come to a deal. They also had a gorgeous brown Carrera, but again just more than I'd want to spend on a tag :(
Again, congrats on your new acquisition

Thanks.

There are lots of Speedies in circulation, so if the price wasn't right then you did the right thing to walk away. I'm sure another will come up for you in due course! :)

welcome to the club! it's lovely.

and my experience with sales staff in tourneau wasn't any better. she seemed generally clueless and told me things i knew were incorrect.

i'll look forward to seeing what you do with leather. i've been thinking about what i'd like to do for a leather strap for my AT.

That is lovely welsh lad, good choice on the dial colour 8)

Omega have never issued the COSC certificate with their watches, you have to request it ether at the time of purchasing through the AD / boutique or email Omega directly. Some times they charge 100 SF sometimes they do it for free. I would drop omega an email requesting the COSC certificate for your nice new Aqua Terra.

Just beautiful, Steve.
There are not a lot of recent Omegas I find that attractive, but that is one! Congratulations.

Congratulations Welshlad! Great story and excellent photographs. Your story about Goldsmiths and the lack of knowledge of their shelf stock mirrored my experience but the discounting part did not. My attempt at obtaining a discount was met with disdain and incredulity. I will never forget listening to the manageress say 'By how much does Sir want to devalue the watch?' Stroppy cow. No matter, you have an excellent piece on your wrist and I have no doubt looking at and wearing it will take away any pain visited upon you by your wife.

welshlad wrote:Anyway, I'm home now. The watch is lovely. However, I do have the slightly sick feeling in my stomach that you sometimes get after spending a lot of money. Or maybe that's just people who live in Yorkshire? :)
No, I can assure you it's not confined to Yorkshire. You think "What HAVE I done here?" Fortunately it wears off.

Now, as to the question of:
jmarchitect wrote:...wearing it will take away any pain visited upon you by your wife.
How may we support you through the difficult moments. Obviously we don't know Mrs. WL, so we can't be sure it won't be open arms and exceeding great joy all round...but let's assume not. Will it be:

A. Calm resignation and sideways looks?
B. Sulks (What's wrong? You know! And if you don't I'm not going to tell you!)
C. A full-blown rant?

Or somewhere betwixt and between? Will guilt pressies be needed?
Will you need somewhere to hide the watch for 5 years or so? I'm sure you will find a couple of kind friends on the forum.
Just let us know. We're here to help!

Congratulations it really is a beautiful watch and in my opinion the best size.
I went into Goldsmiths for the white on a bracelet and came away with the the black face on black leather that you were tempted by. I also negotiated what I thought was a reasonable deal but actually found the young man who served me to be very knowledgeable. He even suggested I walk out onto the street wearing the watch to see it in natural light !!!

I agree that yours will look great on leather but (in case you are not aware) when I looked into buying the bracelet I was told both that and the leather are over £500.

As a fellow Yorkshire man I had the 'what have I done' too, but as AVO said it soon wears off, especially when you look down and appreciate it.

Enjoy.
