Car looks smart. Is it a JCW or a 'straight' S?

I had a friend who had an S and went to a JCW. It was a bit quicker but the rock hard suspension made it almost undriveable in the lanes around home, and she regretted it almost at once. If anything it had less grip because it lurched from bump to bump, and torque steered badly.
