This is my Grandfather's (Pop) 25 years Service watch from The Distillers Company that will have been given to him in the late 1940's, which I am wearing this afternoon.
I found it at the end of last week when going through items from my parents estate that had been put by two years ago to go to auction. Not sure why it went into the 'auction' box then but, with my current interest in watches it isn't staying there.
Its a Roidor 17 jewel Swiss Made with 31mm case which, from a bit of research seems quite common for the genre, and of little commercial value; that's not the issue. Quite surprisingly the strap fits me without adjustment.
Having wound it and had it running for a couple of days its keeping remarkably good time at about +20 secs per day.
