Hi Om, been a while! All good down here, just clocked up 11 years of retirement and still loving it.
Are you still up in Canada? Enjoying the cooler temps?
Edit... Duh, I just looked at your signature <facepalm>

@Greatpotfarm
Bravo!! :clap: I have been looking and watching for a moving arms Mickey watch for years. How is the movement? Can you tell who made it and is it fully jeweled? Also the clock looks like a lovely piece. Will be nice to see when completed. Many times the brass plates are damaged almost beyond repair due to lack of jeweles and lubrication. Good luck. :thumbup:
The Mickey watch was made by Bradley in the late 1970s. The movement is either an AS or an ETA sporting one whole jewel... But unlike most one jewel movements, this one's jewel is spring loaded for shock protection. It was dead dead, dirty, with a loose and scratched up crystal and missing the crown when it was given to me in a box of old watches. But following a half service and a quick regulation, it came back to life. I wound it 29 hours ago and been wearing it since with it showing a 4 second gain. I am very surprised at how well this Mickey is able to point to the correct time, and hope that he'll be able to do it as well next time I strap him to my wrist.
The pleasure of having that jolly face smile at me when I check the time is definitely worth the couple of hours I have invested in this time gage 😃.

The clock... Oh boy... Clocks... Great Potential Farm Time Gages would be in a heck of a better financial standing were I to fix everybody's grandparent's inherited clock that I am presented with, but I just don't enjoy the routine work... I make exceptions though, if I'm given Carte Blanche to a complete redesign... That happens from time to time, as in this case, and I relish the challenge! 😃
The dreaded pin lever movement, the reason I have never purchased a Mickey. Would it be feasible to fit a good ETA, something like a 2824? If A good dial and hands were found, that would be something I might consider.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

I’m off work this week, so I’ve got more spare time on my hands the usual and thought I’d try a more arty shot with my new citizen 🙂

Well done. That one came together nicely. I really like the dial on that one.
