Thanks @iain . Yeah, I bought it in a time of mourning and at the beginning of my watch journey.iain wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 6:54 pmThe AT is one of those watches that seem to have passed me by as well. Like you I also can’t explain why.Redpat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 4:10 pm Seamaster aqua terra 41mm black lacquer.

It looks wonderful
It wears beautifully
It's feels premium and luxurious........
So why can't I bond with it!![]()
It's amazing quality and a better timepiece than my other watches in almost every way, I don't understand.
Answers on a postcard please.![]()
Thanks
Pat
I have mentioned it on here before but about 7-8 years ago I received some inheritance money and knew I’d be spending it on an AT. I’d even decided which colour I was having long before I’d walked into the shop.
Long story short, I tried it on and walked out with an El Primero…….
It was the perfect watch, even when I purchased it I was positive it was everything i wanted. Im guessing that as I got to know more about watches along with dealing with the circumstances by which I obtained the funds, I found myself preferring other types of watches more.
I know I should probably sell it but I can't be bothered to go through all that palaver right now. Hopefully I'll bond with it and wear it on more than an occasion.
I genuinely wish I'd opted for a speedmaster, seamaster dive or Cartier santos dumont etc, at the time the Cartier just wasn't on my radar and I'd never really had a proper look at a speedie.
Oh well! Such is life, we live and learn. At the end of the day I still have a desirable watch that im privileged to own.
Actually, I find myself a little embarrassed that I'm bitching about owning an expensive, beautiful watch, when others are going through a lack of far more basic things. Perhaps I need to take a reality check.
Thanks
Pat
