This one is an aftermarket strap. Although, I did pick up an OEM Omega buckle for it. I have been hesitant to go all in on an Omega strap (the ones I have found are super expensive) because I have never been able to ascertain for certain that the 2900.50.91 and my 2200.50.00 have the lug holes in the same place. I went through at least 3-4 aftermarket straps until I found one that fit. I took a flyer on one off of eBay that said it was for the 45.5 mm Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean XL Chronograph. Finally success. I may just go to my Omega guy and see if we can look over the part number books so that I can verify for certain. I must say though, this aftermarket one is pretty good.

Re: Non CW of the Day
I keep Googling these as exactly what you described a great field/tool watch for all duties. Awesome cohesion of design. If it just had a six o'clock date window I might have been even more tempted.Thunder1 wrote:A late Xmas gift for me today...it's the Longines Spirit, black dial, in the 40mm form...it arrived late yesterday morning, and so far, the accuracy is indeed within COSC specs(- 1 spd)...
For me, it satisfies a couple of longings that I've had..1)I've wanted an everyday, go anywhere, do anything(GADA) watch for a while that wasn't one of my divers...while I have a couple of Hammy Field Pioneers that I like a lot, their 42mm case size, coupled w/ their long lug length, are both a little too large for my wrist to wear for long periods of time, and..2)I've been waiting for a 40mm 'Murph' to be released, and this seems to meet that desire as well..I know the Spirit is technically an 'aviation' style offering, but for all practical purposes, w/ its dial layout, coupled w/ its 100m wr rating, it is also a field watch, as well, imo..
There are numerous reviews of these Spirits online, so I won't bore you by repeating much of what they say..but yes, the polished steel rimmed indices, long luminous hands & polished/brushed steel case are very eye catching..the black dial appears to be a 'gloss' black inside the house/office & it's true matt-black color is evident under direct sunlight...
So, who is this watch for then?...IMO, it's for those of us that 1)just like the look & quality construction of it, 2)for those looking for a very worthy, albeit, a cheaper version, of the IWC Mark XVIII/XX, Breitling Aviator or Bremont offerings, and 3)for those that have been waiting for a 40mm 'Murph' to come out..
Here's a couple pics of mine on the leather strap it(the standard, non-prestige version) comes with..highly recommended folks!!..

^^^^ @ABW
That's the trouble with field watches. They tend to be 'no date'.

Re: Non CW of the Day
You know, their 37mm version is made w/ a date window @ the 6:00 position..if you can wear something that small, you might give them a look ..if it helps any, on these 40mm versions, the black background of the date wheel, coupled w/the slightly 'off-white' color of the date itself, tends to veil or mitigate the visual impact of the date window..it's not very prominent at all, & that may be an intentional design feature...

All this talk about the Murph made this a no brainer for today.

Rich, I'd still pick up one of these in a heartbeat if it was offered in the 40mm size..just a classic look, imo..have you fully broken in that strap yet?...I think it's a perfect look for it...

Re: Non CW of the Day
It is a pretty decent strap. I left it on a firm rubber watch cushion for 2-3 days and that curved it up nicely. Mine is running about +2 spd too.
