Re: Non CW of the Day
Following on from some successful sales business with James @ Kibble Watches that helped fund the final balance on my Obscura, there were some funds left over and he very conveniently happened to have a 2015 Signalman GMT PR LE at a very preferential price.
Whilst I consider the Obscura to be the Ultimate Tool watch, I felt it would be good to have a bit of bling for occasional wear.
NB> It's got quite a lot of honest, light wear, but no damage as such to the fully polished case.
I had the option to get it repolished but felt that would spoil the wabi that has accumulated over the years. I will though be giving it a light going over with some Cape Cod to buff it up.

Re: Non CW of the Day
Rain expected in the morning so I've popped my Obscura onto an India Rubber strap.
It also gave me the opportunity for a close up pic of the case finish, which lends a new meaning to the phrase Brushed and Polished.

We're seeing an awful lot of Obscura photos recently. Which is good because it's a lovely thing!Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 12:51 pm Rain arrived as expected.

Re: Non CW of the Day
Guy, theses are fantastic photos that show off the Obscura to its best. I've wanted to congratulate you on this very unique purchase. Frankly it's a remarkable piece of engineering, it's stretching the traditional bounds of what a watch should be, as well as being a natural talking point. Of course it's a watch, but it's so much more. I think it's amazing and I'm a very big fan. Not sure my 6.9" wrist would feel the same though.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2024 1:57 am Rain expected in the morning so I've popped my Obscura onto an India Rubber strap.

This may not be what Mr Scurfield envisaged for his watches, but as a low-stress do-anything take-anywhere watch these are great value.
