The final watch in my vintage parade is this 18ct gold Longines from 1966, signed for the “posh” jeweller where I grew up.

I have been looking at this exact watch on and off for months. What are your thoughts Alex? How do you find the size?

Honestly? Have it for 24hrs now and I love it! The textured dial is really cool and pops in contrast light. Size is spot on, 36mm 9-3 radius, 33 mm 12-6 radius, 41 mm lug to lug. Feels like a leather bracelet on the wrist. ;)

My wrist is 16 cm in circumference (16.2 on a really good day) but flat, this thing wears like a charm. But I also own & wear watches like the 44mm Luminor that I can pull off, Submariner 41, etc, all work without any issues. Initially, this one seemed small like a button but it is actually a neat size and wears just right.

It is a keeper for me, also I got it unused with warranty card stamped Dec '23 for 50% off the MSRP, so excellent value comparing to the regular Khaki line.

Two minuses: lume is barely visible on the plots, somewhat visible on the hands, and the lug width is 18mm (this is a problem for me as I have 0 18mm straps at the moment but a bunch of 20, 21 & 22s). I can live with those.

@gwells hi, that is a stunning watch. I haven't seen one before, any further info? And are they still available? I had a quick search but didn't find anything.
Thanks

Meeting some old friends for beers later. Better wear something tough in case we have any alcohol induced gravity related incidents.

don't think they're still available new. it's called the helson blackbeard and it came in a few variations (this was the nicest one, imnsvho).

you can keep an eye on watchrecon for them. doesn't look like any are available right now and only the white bezel/white dial show up in recent sales.
