Ebels are a lot like women that lack a lowcut dress that zips up the side..neither gets the love that they deserve..

I am, Paul. It’s a wonderful watch.
Richard made a status enquiry ( ) and I said it wasn’t available. But I thought about it a lot, and asked myself some important questions. Important because I love my watches but I can’t afford them. So I have to think more carefully about the watches I do have, and also the general size of the collection. Here are the questions:

Is the IWC fabulous? Yes
Will you be wearing it forever? No
Why not? It’s not white (turns out this is important)

Are you ready for stasis in your collection? No

Would you rather have one expensive/quality/fabulous watch or a gaggle of cheaper ones? Maybe one top tier and then a few others to flip for fun.

So what’s the next white watch to try? I can’t tell until I clear some space for the next ideas to pop up.

Not sure if this makes any sort of sense! The mk xvi was awesome and has set and refined all sorts of ideas about where I want to go next. It’s the highest quality watch I’ve ever worn. Unfortunately that has opened my eyes a bit and I want to keep exploring

Blimey @missF, I didn’t see that coming, maybe the white dial IWC mark is what you’ll end up with one day when you’ve finished your exploring.

That’s the interesting thing about this so called hobby, it all started with a C7, having worked my up the ladder, Tudor, Omega etc to Rolex, I thought I was as far as I could go. Lindsey is so right when she said this is a fabulous watch, so much so I think a visit to an IWC AD may on the cards :D. I think I maybe starting on another journey
Cheers Lindsey

That’s the obvious next move. But as you say - once I’ve explored a few more options. Setting myself one top tier watch, and knowing it will be white, quietens my head a bit! And yes - now that my one top tier watch has moved on another has popped up to grab my attention
