She's at that age where home is hard to define. She lives most of her life at university and various summer internships, away from California, but as a student, our house is probably still what she feels is "home," although increasingly less so as time continues.

She's on the plane now and about to head back to Houston, Texas, where she will work for the summer before heading to Madrid for her third year of college. So, sadly, we shall see her even less frequently now.

A friend of mine long ago once told me you never own kids, you just rent them. It's a bittersweet feeling that I'm sure all parents appreciate.
