Re: Non CW of the Day

Just had my first attempt at regulating a mechanical watch. It had been losing over two minutes per day after taking mighty wallop when I fell off my mountain bike.

After checking it out on a Timegrapher, I managed to reduce the 6ms beat error down to a more reasonable 0.2ms. The error rate is now reading between -10 to +10 seconds, depending on the position so I now need to run it for a week or so to check the real life error before deciding whether it needs any further tweaks.

Continuing with the vintage & Omega themes, it’s my Seamaster Cosmic 2000. A bit of a mouthful as far as names go, as well as a mix of two previously separate model lines, but I love that a 48 year old watch can look so contemporary.

CW watch count - enough to keep me very happy, but always room for more!

A beaut..captures nicely the diver's vibe of the '60's, which I'm a big fan of these days..

Just do it!

I am surprised that you have held out for so long. :)

Vintage vibe, modern construction.

Looks even better when the sun is shining.

First wear this year. I finally got a black curved lug strap. A Raymond Weil strap as it happens. I was using a CW cordovan until I realised the watch case was rubbing the strap. I've been using rubber and sailcloth, but wanted leather. Surprisingly hard to find a curved end strap of decent quality.

You can see the gap in the second picture You wouldn't think a straight end would rub on the case but it does, and it's a real pain paying for a cordovan strap and seeing it get damaged like that.

Oh is that a recent arrival?

A splendid trio - GO, Submariner and Speedmaster.

Not mine - borrowed from a colleague - this is the sapphire sandwich - wears great !

Still looking to complete the perfect trio - but it can wait a year or two :-)
