Great looking watch from an under rated company.

Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

New favorite NCW watch for me!!! What a dial! The color, the texture, the lack of busyness, the date wheel... the reflection of the indexes in the edge of the matching bezel... Just perfect.
The photo composition as well
Top of the minute to you all,

Thanks, Dan! I have three Zelos watches and this one really stands out. The dial looks like moving waves (similar to my Seiko Save the Ocean manta dials) when tilting the watch at various angles. It's impossible to appreciate in a still photo.Greatpotfarm wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 7:37 pmNew favorite NCW watch for me!!! What a dial! Similar pattern is employed in decorating wheels in the winding trains of fancy movements and setting wheels in elaborate skeletons, but never have I seen it on a dial. It is so fantastically well rendered! Regular in pattern, yet so random looking in depth, and masterfully finished. Wish I could see it in person. Thank you for posting it!

Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

Gorgeous! Is this an enamel dial Gary? I don’t know much about how coloured dials are made

Non CW of the Day
Lindsey, it’s a vertically brushed red fumé dial. It’s kind of like a candy apple red in that when the light catches it in the right way it “glows” red. Typically, they were lacquered dials, morat least had a top layer of lacquer to give an even finish with the black of the fumé effect. I think they were usually applied in three layers, base colour (in this case, translucent red to show up the underlying brushed dial), followed by the fumé effe t layer, finally a lacquer top layer to give it the shine.missF wrote:Gorgeous! The watch was not sold as NOS, but is in superb condition.

I have a very nice green one as well…
