I freely admit to being greatly influenced by the frequent, high quality, pics of your version that you've generously shared w/ us..I opted for the initial re-issue(still new, unsold) over the current release because of the nice price I picked it up for($3,700.00) and I really like it..I'm aware of some of the differences between the two(better tapered bracelet & clasp, domed crystal, aluminum bezel, sandwich dial face w/ less lettering, enhanced movement, lollipop seconds hand)..hmm, now I'm wondering why I picked it up!! :problem: ..seriously, though, if both the timing is right and the opportunity(a bargain price point!!) presented itself, I could see myself picking up the blue dial version..it's the bee's knees!!..
Excellent price for a lovely watch Chuck. Image
The first release is a beauty, regardless of the changes they made to the second one - and as you say, there’s always the option to add another, later, version when the time arises and you have two subtly distinctive (aka totally dissimilar) watches. Image

Forgot to post yesterday, so it’s two watches for the price of one today.

Yesterday it was the freshly serviced Pilot Line Memomatic

Today, it’s a similar vintage Seamaster chronograph

No joke. Yes, I started with one of those. They're the perfect price for an exercise. But I did manage to cut off half of the white dial, 2/3 of the decorative plate under the dial, about half of the top plate and a lot of the time train and winding bridges, and the damned thing ran fine, and still does, after I put it back together. Not bad for a first attempt, I would say. I was considering cutting some of the decoration off the flying balance bridge, but didn't want to press my luck (that was too delicate of a part at the time).
If you take a closer look at what you found on Amazon, and compare it to what is on my wrist, you will notice why I wear this singular gage so proudly.
I even played with the rotor and turned it into a MOP engraving/inlay exercise. Here is a photo.
IMG_20221011_181352881_HDR.jpg
Unfortunately, that whole selfwinding part of the movement is such chinese junk, that my watch now is a hand winder and the rotor will at some point become a decoration on a presentation box.
