I retrieve it, find the original oyster bracelet that I would fit before sale. I then make the mistake of putting the watch on, convince myself the 5 digit models don’t have the same baggage as the current model and thoughts of selling disappear. Oh well. Back to the drawing board. :)

If I could afford it Neil, id be telling you its disgusting, looks old and makes you look stupid, but as im as broke as a broken thing thats very broke, its absolutely stunning and one of my all time faves!!!

I don’t think you should make Rolex selling decisions based on their current perceived baggage. Once the influencers have got bored of Rolex (it won’t take long), and decided that not-Rolex watches are now the thing to wear, the bubble will burst, and everyone who truly loves their Rolexes will tell their friends how they got their amazing watches before all that.

You mean you just wear it because you really love it???

Exactly....

That is lovely I have to say. I don't remember seeing it before, Neil. Just how many Rolex's do you have? No, don't answer that, it's a crass question. In truth, you seem to have more Rolex's than my local AD, and certainly the most desirable ones. Perhaps you're single handedly responsible for these supply issues.

On the other hand, that is a lot of money sitting there when you consider how little wear it gets. It is a very nice watch but if you have others you much prefer wearing then a little consolidation of one or two of high value but rarely worn watches might not be such a bad thing. Dosh in the bank and more chance to wear the survivers. :D

Clearly having all his mates round on Saturday wasn't a good idea as he's now in bed with Covid. Anyway …

My latest build: a pink dial, Explorer homage for my wife. I still need to cut the crown stem and correct the beat error, as well as size the bracelet for her wrist.
