Trying the Clé de Cartier on leather instead of the bracelet. Going into summer as we are, the bracelet will probably go back on, but it’s a nice change. Of course Cartier have to be difficult with 18.5mm lugs. I think I might have to find a nice 19mm strap to squeeze in that half mm. This 18mm one is a fraction narrow (I can see the spring bar ends) and a bit too unforgiving; it’s doing it’s best to stay straight…

Unusually for you Gary, that's not looking top notch.

I'm not sure if its;-

1. The colour of the strap; black or dark blue might be better

2. That it's tapered not straight

3. That its simply a strap; not the usual, fabulous bracelet or even ....

4. The photo itself that makes the watch look like a dinner plate attached with two bits of string.

This might be the best image I’ve seen yet of a Tribus. We’ll done, Richard!

It almost makes me want one the way Ferg’s pics of his Pepsi C65 GMT almost make me want one…almost.

Thank you, the way light interacts with the crystal is simply delicious. Seriously, it’s a lovely watch.

That’s exactly it. And delicious, what a perfect adjective to describe it.

Thanks for all the compliments Guy  ;)

It boils down to the number of 18mm straps that I own. Unlike the 100+ spare 20 & 22mm straps I have, you can count the 18mm ones on one hand (with fingers to spare) and some of them are already on watches.

Basically, it came down to a choice of one. That explains my comment about needing to buy a 19mm strap. Mind you I have exactly one of those and it belongs to my Aqua Terra. Mind you, dark blue sailcloth, it’d look good, but not squeezing an OEM Omega strap into 1/2mm smaller lugs… I have something on order that I hope will fit the bill.

Oh, and the “bits of string” thing is probably because the strap is so stiff, it carves it’s own (very straight) path around my wrist to the clasp, so visually it’s a bit of a disappearing act. I was hoping a day’s wear would help round it out a bit, but no. It’s unlikely that it will be used again, unless one of my girls is in need of a strap. Free strap = don’t complain to Dad about it taking weeks to settle in to your wrist shape.
