nbg wrote: Sun Oct 10, 2021 6:39 pm ^^^ thanks Andrew. Three different case sizes 39mm, 41mm and 40mm.

Just missing one from another brand to complete what (for me) would be a set of watches based upon the four iconic dive watches of the 1950s.

Neil
Very nice, Neil. Number 4… a 50 Fathoms, possibly??

Des
It would indeed Des.

I have tried on a few over the years - 38mm, 40mm, 43mm and 45mm. Even the 45mm only has a L2L of 50mm. I think my preference would be a 40mm, but the problem has been that the last few have all been LE at stupid prices.

Now if they bring out a 40mm non LE that I can buy Grey or preowned for the price of a Submariner then I would likely get one. :)

Vesuviate Attivo today, a Kickstarter watch. With a 39mm hardened steel case and a 24mm bracelet (at the case), I was concerned that it could wear too large, but it’s quite comfortable. Maybe the fact that it’s reasonably thin helps, although I feel that the bracelet could have had a bit more taper though. I’ve worn it a few times since it arrived, but these are the first photos I’ve taken.

Haven’t worn this in quite awhile. My Seiko SNK809 for a little lawn work and house cleaning.

New one in for me, a NOS vintage chronograph with a hand wound Valjoux 23 column wheel movement. The nicely sized 38mm case is a commonly used one for the era; this one is stainless steel, but there were also chromed versions around - for example this case was used by Breitling for one of their Top Time models. The tritium lume is quite a nice shade and there were a few micro-scratches on the 9 o’clock side of the case from storage, but they polished out nicely with a cape cod cloth and a little effort. I’ll undoubtedly get it serviced before I wear it too much more.
