Very nice vintage Omega, on an unusual strap!

How come the strap looks like you cut off the bits below the lugs and stuck a plainer section on? :D
The strap is fairly vintage too, well at least 25 years old. Its a Hirsch, but obviously an outdated model. I also have a black version on an old Seiko. I remember buying them back then and thinking how cool and stylish they looked. How times have changed! 8)
