Strap is a bit short for me on the buckle side, it was pulling the head of the watch away from me around my wrist.

Its a gorgeous strap though, so solution was to switch it around with the buckle section on the 6 o'clock lugs. Sorted.

Wearing this at the mo.
That’s a good looking Tag. Quite unusual with the 9 o’clock position date/cyclops. I don’t recollect seeing that on any watch before.
Thanks,I need the cyclops with my fading eyesight now :-) I have owned 4 of these now the other 3 were quartz, this is an auto & quite accurate.

You said it best - it is indeed gorgeous. I think I’ll be keeping hold of this for a long time. The polished case contrasts beautifully with the brushed dial. I’d always overlooked the Axis in the Pinion line up, so part of my delight comes from the surprise at just how good it is.

In the course of the transaction, Mark said that it’s a genuine one watch contender and I absolutely agree. Think I’ll be looking for a couple more straps for it before long.

^^^^^ Thanks Mark.

I am also thinking of getting one of the revised Atom39 that Piers is releasing this year. Still haven’t decided between blue or green dial. :)

nbg wrote:Size would be fine Paul. I spent years not buying an SKX (same case as used in the new range) thinking it was a “real 42.5mm ish size”; it isn’t, but I only realised when I tried one on. :)

Bezel edge to bezel edge is just about 40mm. Lug to lug is less than the 47mm L2L on a 16570.Neil
Have to agree. Back in the day when I used to regularly wear 7548 divers (essentially the same case etc as an SKX) these were considered a fairly substantial watch. Having since been through the cycle of *actual* large watches, and now swinging back to smaller sizes, the SKX and its ilk are still not a large watch.

Every time I put one on nowadays, I’m struck by the fact that they’re really somewhat petite in the overall scheme of things. They were really only considered large when the average watch was in the 34-36mm size range...

Today, I’ve gone with the Lemania powered Tissot Navigator, but I’ve fitted an NSA bracelet to it. It fits the look of the late sixties/early seventies, but I think I like it just as much on the black and red piccari CW strap that I had it on before.

Good looking chrono, I must say..if you ever come across another like it, pls let me know...so, hopefully, the fires aren't too bad in your area...what you folks are going through, though, is just horrible...I'm surprised that there hasn't been more reports of loss of human life...stay on your toes!!!..
