Re: Non CW of the Day
Just looked at the link, very informative. Only 500 made originally. It just so happens that they have sold out of the hybrid, too. It's a really nice watch; lovely case and unusual dial. It'sAliveJim wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 5:55 pmIt's a modern reproduction of the original Newmark 6BB military issued chrono. It's a Seiko mecha-quartz movement to keep costs down.

Since vacationing in Florence last year and visiting their huge flagship store there, I've become more and more attracted to Panerai. I think my taste leans more towards the Radimir line though. What are your thoughts on yours Patrick?Thegreyman wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 5:26 pm Today I’m a Paneristi

Kicking myself for stalling (and missing)on an opurtunity to pick one of these up recently. This watch has awoken an interest in military chrono graphs I never knew I had. I've been tempted by the MWC version but think I will hold out to see if Newmark produce another run

It was either watchgooroo or glycine-direct on eBay. Factory warranty.Ian Mc wrote:Thanks for that.Robotaz wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 3:11 pmThank you. It is not a Purist, hence the GMT hand with the red tip.Ian Mc wrote: Liking the airman!
Is it a purist version? What are your thoughts about it? Fit/finish etc
It’s a gorgeous watch. I got an incredible deal of ~$550, too!
The only complaint is that the strap buckle is not bronze. It’s a rose colored PVD steel. Bronze buckles run about $10-$15 though, so an easy fix.
Other than that, the fume dial looks great. I particularly enjoy the lumed, raised markers. Nice display back to see the Airman rotor. It’s a heckuva watch for the prices they’re going for.
Where did you find that deal?

I love it Phil. First time I’d worn it for a few weeks today (problem with having too many watches!) and it reminds me how much I like it. Initially I was like you, preferred the Radiomir and not sure at all about the Luminor but then I tried one on and then I had to have one.FloridaPhil wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 9:19 pmSince vacationing in Florence last year and visiting their huge flagship store there, I've become more and more attracted to Panerai. Really like the one I went for with the in house handwound movement 8 day PR 300m WR and a beautiful display back. It’s quite slim though which means it wears well despite the large diameter. It’s probably not to all tastes but I like that it looks quite unique and has presence.
They are quite the strap magnet too so lots of opportunities to change the look of the watch.
In an ideal world I’d get a Rad too though, a couple of lovely ones on the forum (Bjorn and Gary’s spring to mind).
Another gratuitous shot from today

Wish I had backed the Newmark now. Very nice indeed. I see they are launching a vintage style dive watch next.

Sunny in Killarney, south-west Ireland. Time to get the sunray silver dial out...
